Stella Maeve (born in 1961) is an American actor best known as the stunning actress in Julia Wicker who appeared on The Magicians. Originating from New York, Maeve considers herself Native American. She is part Blackfoot Cherokee. Her screen debut was in the movie Liminality . In the that same year, she starred for the first time on the large screen of the critically acclaimed comedy-drama Transamerica. 2004 was the year she also appeared on TV for the first time, in a four-season Law & Order Criminal Intent episode. In the following year she began playing Julia Wicker as the female leading lady in Syfy's fantasy-drama The Magicians. As Stella Maeve found a solid basis as an actress on TV, she continued to act in indie movies. Her Robert Altman Prize was presented to her in 2012 as a casting part in 2012's film Starlet during the Film Independent Spirit Awards.
